Happy Halloween!

This year I decided to have the boys each carve little pumpkins. Poor Alex had been throwing up and sick with a cough all day, but that didn't stop him. Both boys were very proud of their pumpkins and thought that their own was the scariest!
For Halloween Alex decided to be Darth Vader. He has a thing with the dark side I guess. His costume also has a voice changer to make the breathing noises like the real Darth Vader. James, who often fights with his brother, decided to be Obi Wan Kanobi. I thought that was pretty fitting that the boys were on opposite sides.
Alex was still pretty sick, but wanted to go trick-or-treating anyways. We made to about three houses before he made me carry his helmet, light saber, and treat bucket. By the time we got to the end of our street he was crying and wanted to go home. James still wanted to trick-or-treat so thankfully my good friend Kendra let him go with her kids. He had so much fun and they also invited him to stay the night. This will be his first sleep over at a friends house. Good luck Nick and Kendra!
Happy Halloween everybody!

Guam, the black hole continues...

A Mighty Void
Black holes are the cold remnants of former stars, so dense that no matter—not even light—is able to escape their powerful gravitational pull.
Guam is the black hole for B-1's. Everyone who is sent there to pick up a B-1 never gets out when they are supposed to. James has been stuck in the black hole for almost two weeks now. He was only supposed to be gone for 4-5 days, but everytime they try to take off the jet breaks or they have an in-air-emergency and they are sucked back into the black hole of guam. He is now waiting to try to get off the island again next tuesday because they have to order new parts for the Jaloppy Jet he is supposed to fly home. On a more positive note, his golf game has gotten better. He is really bummed that he is going to miss Halloween with the kids though. I am too. Hopefully his jet will resist the gravitational pull and he'll make it home next week.
I miss you James!
