Happy Mother's Day!

San Antonio and Tucson.

Over Spring Break we were able to spend some time down in San Antonio. We went to Sea World for one of the days.
It was a beautiful day!

We also spent some time at the Alamo.

The week before Spring Break, James and I were able to spend a few days in Tucson, AZ. James won Company Grade Officer of the Year for Dyess AFB so we were able to go to Tucson where he competed for the 12th Air Force Company Grade Officer of the Year. While we were there we were able to go on several tours and see the A-10 practice for an airshow.

The main event was the Awards Dinner where we got to get all dressed up.

James's brother, Bryce, lives in Arizona and he and his wife Jackie were able to come up for the dinner. It was great to see them! No one from our base won that night, but we had a great time in Tucson.

Snow and Christmas P.J.'s

This is the view from outside our front door on Christmas Eve morning. I woke up around 7:00am and was surprised to see snow! I grabbed my camera and opened the front door and took this picture. The next thing I heard was my neighbor who lives in this house I took a picture of say "Are you done yet?" . I was a little embarassed because she caught me taking a picture of her house while she was trying to get her paper. Thankfully I know her pretty well so it wasn't that big of deal. We were both shocked by the snow. A couple of days before this it was near 70 degrees outside. We had a white Christmas even in Texas!
My amazing sister, Bonnie, made these adorable pajamas for everyone in our family! They are so cozy!

Alex is a super star!

I'm a little later than I wanted to be with posting this, but better late than never. Rand is not one to let me be on the computer for more than 5 minutes. Alex has had a great season of flag football. He normally played offensive lineman, but he ran the ball a few times too.

Football and new pictures of the boys

Well, if you have been wondering what I have been up to lately, this is it. Both James and Alex started playing football in August. The season is ending this week and it has been a LONG season. I had no idea that we were commiting to 4 nights a week when we signed up this spring. Alex is playing flag football. He normally plays offence. He occasionally runs the ball, but mostly is a great blocker. Jamesy is playing tackle football, which scared me to death in the beginning. He is the smallest and youngest on his team. He barely missed the cutoff for flag. With being the smallest on the team I didn't think they would have him be a defensive lineman/ linebacker, but that is what he plays. The first few games I just braced myself everytime he was put in because he would be immediatelly thrown down and sometimes sat upon by the other team. About the end of September though he decided he was sick of being thrown down and he broke through the line and got an amazing tackle of the guy running the ball that shocked his coaches and us! From that day on he has been known as "Big James". It gave him incredible confidence and he has been doing great ever since. Jamesy has also decided since starting football that he is not a little kid anymore so he won't take baths anymore. He now is a big kid and takes showers. It's hard to get him out of them. Saturday was Jamsey's last game. Alex's last game is on Saturday I will post more on Alex later next week. We are really proud of both of them and the way that they have grown.

Alex and James on the Panther Homecoming float. All of the players for the Panther League got to ride on this float while the parents followed in their cars honking their horns. If you notice there are even cheer leaders for the teams too. Football is a religion in Texas. It is really a big deal. The stands are packed for these games.

These pictures are for my sister Bonnie! She has been wanting to see Baby Rand. He is almost six months old now. He is looking, in my opinion, a lot like Jamesy. He is quite the flirt with the ladies, but he is starting to get a little shy too. He'll smile really big at them then hide his face in my shoulder. For the most part he is still very easy going and is usually happy.

Lani, thanks so much for this cute outfit for Rand! I think he looks adorable in it!

Jamesy really loves to hold and help out with Rand. Rand thinks James and Alex are very entertaining and loves to be with them when they play. Especially when they are using swords and light sabers. Rand thinks they are hilarious and he will laugh at them.

Rand has finally learned to love his jumper! He is totally occupied for over 30 minutes! Think of the possibilities....Should I be productive or relax...?

The cutest rats I have ever seen!

Jamesy and Alex had the opportunity to try out for the Pied Piper put on by the Missoula Children's Theatre. As you can see they both got the part of rats. They both had minor speaking parts, but the funniest part they had was when they performed the King of the Rats song. All week during rehearsal they both refused to dance during the song. It was very easy to tell them apart from the other rats, but they looked a little funny not dancing. Iwas finally able to bribe them into dancing with cookies. They sure earned those cookies! In the very poor quality video you can't even tell which ones are my boys! It was a very "cheesy" play, but entertaining for the parents of the actors.
