Halloween Family Fun!

Last night we finally carved our Halloween Pumpkins. I've seen a lot of crushed pumpkins in the street lately so we decided to carve them just before Halloween and bring them in at night. That's too bad that a few people can ruin it for so many. I didn't want to have to deal with crying little boys over smashed pumpkins.

When Alex and I picked out pumpkins yesterday, he said that the other pumpkins were too big so we asked to take these small pumpkins from the store's display. Alex was thrilled because he could lift them all by himself. The boys decorated them with markers because the pumpkins were too small to carve. They had a lot of fun and their hands were covered with color from the markers.

James is fantastic at carving pumpkins and he always chooses designs that take a lot of patience. He carved a haunted castle. As you can tell from the next picture, I went the more simple route. I think they turned out great.

The Peterson family blog!

It was inevitable! The Peterson family now has a blog! I have really enjoyed reading everyone's blogs, so I knew it was just a matter of time before I started my own. So many of my friends and family have one. Hopefully I can be as good as everyone else in keeping you up to date with our family.

Last weekend we went as a family to Farmingdale to ride our ATV. We had so much fun and the weather was ideal for 4 wheeling. We went with the Winters family and their son Tyler let James try out his small ATV. Jamesy loved it! I think we will have to think about getting one in the future. I was really surprised at how well he did on his own. He is totally ready for his own.

After he rode the small one he thougt he was ready to ride mine by himself. He'll just have to
settle on riding with an adult on the big one for awhile.

Earlier this week, Alex and I went on a date just the two of us. Alex wanted to go out to chinese and then go bowling at the base. I was a little intimidated because on his first turn he got a strike. We had a lot of fun and it was great to hang out just the two of us. This kid is really growing up!
